Hard Times For Hard Rock?
Live Nation is looking for a new sponsor for its annual Hard Rock Calling festival in London after the theme restaurants chain ended its seven-year deal.
LN had run the event in London’s Hyde Park but this year moved it to the city’s new Olympic Park. The contract to run Hyde Park went to AEG.
LN is being very positive about finding a new sponsor.
“Following record ticket-demand and audience numbers at festivals this year, Live Nation is exploring new sponsorship partnerships for its highly successful ‘Calling’ franchise,” a company representative said.
However, London’s daily Metro claims the festival has “been axed for 2014.”
The festival made headlines in 2012 when Bruce Springsteen was joined onstage by Paul McCartney, but their set was cut short when organisers turned off their microphones after they broke the venue’s sound curfew.
