Getaway Going The Right Way
German promoter FKP Scorpio consolidated its foothold in the Swedish outdoor market when its Getaway Festival pulled nearly 14,000 per day Aug. 8-10.

The rock-oriented fest at the Baltic seaport and university city of Gävle had been doing daily crowds of about 8,000 until the Hamburg-based promoter bought a majority share in 2011.
FKP chief Folkert Koopmans told Pollstar he’s happy with the increased attendance figures because they show Getaway is developing along the right lines.
The acts helping Getaway go the right way included In Flames, System Of A Down, Deep Purple, Lamb of God, Behemoth, and Within Temptation.
