AEG Turns Yummy Profit

The  in Kentucky nearly doubled its predicted operating profit in AEG Facilities’ first year of managing the 22,000-capacity building, venue GM Dennis Petrullo told the Louisville Arena Authority Aug. 12.

AEG took over operations at the Yum Center last year from the Kentucky State Fair Board.

The Yum Center’s profit for the fiscal year ending June 30 was about $2.1 million, well north of the $1.1 million originally projected, according to Louisville’s Business Journal.

AEG guaranteed in its Yum Center contract to generate at least $1 million in profit annually. The arena hosted 138 events for the fiscal year, 12 more than the 126 budgeted for the period, the paper reports.
