Springsteen, Bluesfest Win At Helpmanns

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s Wrecking Ball 2013 tour was named best international contemporary concert at the Helpmann Awards July 29 at the Sydney Opera House.

The tour was promoted with Frontier Touring Company in association with Jacobsen International.

A joint national tour by ace songwriters Neil Finn and Paul Kelly, through Live Nation Australasia by arrangement with Artist Voice, won best Australian contemporary concert.

The 24th Bluesfest in Byron Bay was named best contemporary music festival.

Sydney Opera House and arts philanthropist David Blenkinsop were honoured for their achievements. The Helpmann Awards ceremony was produced by Live Performance Australia.

Categories also covered classical, theatre, comedy, opera, musicals and children’s events.
