How Nagyon Balaton
Nagyon Balaton (or “Very Balaton”), as it’s to be called, will be at several locations around the Aliga Beach, a 2-mile stretch along the shores of Lake Balaton.
The main event will be B My Lake, a 10,000-capacity dance music extravaganza with Tiga, Audio Injection, Dj Hell, dOP, Guy Gerber, Porter Robinson, and Tommy Trash.
“’Although it’s the first time we’ve organized the event, B My Lake is already enjoying big media awareness,” festival co-founder Zoltan Fulop told Pollstar.
“The festival is likely to be one of the biggest sensations of the summer at Lake Balaton, which will be crowned with breathtaking fireworks on 20th August, Hungary’s national celebration day.”
Fulop and partner Norbert Lobenwein also run Balaton Sound and Volt Festival for Sziget Cultural Management.
This year both of them sold out. Apart from being one of Hungary’s most-visited holiday regions, the Aliga Beach area also has its historical interest. Several of the top Eastern Bloc communists had holiday homes there and former Cuban leader Fidel Castro and former Chinese leader Mao Zedong were among the international communists to drop by for a nip of vodka or whatever.
Pro-mot Hungária Kft, one of the country’s major investors, is spending euro 300 million ($395 million) on building 1,500 homes, a 20-story luxury hotel, and various shops and restaurants near the beach.
