Janet Boyle Dies

Boyle, who battled cancer for 16 years, co-owned Cellar Door Concerts with her husband and was co-owner of venues Sunrise Musical Theatre, Mango’s Restaurant & Lounge, and JB’s On The Beach. Boyle was also well known for her philanthropy.

“My wife was one of those people who loved to help other people,” Boyle told the Sun-Sentinel. “Between us we sent between 50 and 100 kids to college, all without them knowing who sent them.”

Janet Boyle’s charitable acts included donating $1 million to Women in Distress, funding nine homes for Habitat for Humanity, and buying one building for Planned Parenthood and paying for two others.
