The Good Rats Singer Dies
Peppi Marchello, 68, the founding singer of Long Island band The Good Rats that saw success in the ‘70s with the album Tasty, died July 10 of cardiac arrest.
Though The Good Rats broke up in the ‘80s, Marcello remained active in the group, which Rolling Stone once called “The world’s most famous unknown band.”
Marcello and his sons continued to tour and release under the band’s name and in 2008 The Good Rats was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
