Charter One Seating Expansion
Chicago city officials are discussing expansion of lawn seating at Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island to 20,000 for this summer’s concert series.
The City Park District is proposing to reconfigure about six acres of land near the seasonal venue to lawn seating and increasing the fixed seating from 8,000 to 8,600 at an estimated cost of $3 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.
If approved, Live Nation would fund the project, which could start as early as this spring.
The Chicago Plan Commission is scheduled to vote on the project March 21.
