David Bowie Touring Soon?

This week David Bowie’s wife, Iman, got music publications buzzing and fans crossing their fingers that the singer would return to the stage for a tour. She seemingly spilled the beans about the long-awaited outing during an interview with a British magazine.

The supermodel made the comment mentioning the tour when talking to Grazia about the couple’s daughter. Multiple publications have quoted the statement from the interview, which hasn’t yet been posted on Grazia’s website.

“We have a 12-year-old in school, so we are stuck, we can’t travel,” Iman said (via New York Daily News). “Our schedule is around her, so I don’t know. We’ll have to go visit him, but we won’t be on tour with him because she’s in school.”

Now we’ll just have to wait and see if the interview is followed up by an official announcement with cities, venues and dates.

In January we reported that Bowie’s longtime collaborator Tony Visconti, who produced the singer’s new album, had talked to the Telegraph about the possibility of a tour.

“He doesn’t want to tour any more,” Visconti told the Telegraph. “He’s had enough of it. But he hasn’t ruled out that he might do a show. It was a relief to me to hear that he was open to that.”

Last month Rolling Stone interviewed guitarist Gerry Leonard, who said there was a 50/50 chance Bowie would hit the road.

“A couple of times, when we played back one of the more kick-ass tunes from the new record, he’d be like, ‘This would be great live!’ Of course, everyone was like, ‘What? Did he just say that?’ But other times he’d just roll his eyes if someone brought up playing live.”

Bowie released The Next Day earlier this week, marking his first full-length studio album since 2003’s Reality.
