Alan Parsons’ World Plans
While still in his teens, Parsons was an assistant engineer on the recording sessions for The Beatles’ Abbey Road album. While that credit would be enough to launch anyone’s career, Parsons followed it by engineering what is arguably one of the most famous albums in rock – Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.
But Parsons’ fame isn’t limited to working with other bands. His own Alan Parsons Project had plenty of hits of its own, including the best-selling album I Robot and radio-friendly songs such as “I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You,” “Eye In The Sky” and “Time.”
But Parsons continues to work his studio magic for other artists, having produced Jake Shimabukuro’s Grand Ukulele album. Parsons also engineered the album The Raven That Refused To Sing (And Other Stories) by Steve Wilson from Porcupine Tree. Expect that album to appear in stores Feb. 25.
