Selena Gomez Does It For Charity

Selena Gomez has scheduled a January charity gig in New York City for UNICEF. This isn’t the first benefit show the singer/actress has done for the United Nations Children’s Fund. The 20-year-old artist has been an ambassador for the organization for the last three years.

The Jan. 19 concert at Best Buy Theater marks Gomez’s third annual Acoustic Charity Concert for UNICEF. Since being appointed an ambassador for the organization in September 2009, she has passionately supported its work to provide nutrition, clean water, medicine, education and more for children throughout the globe.

Gomez was one of the celebs that attended the UNICEF Snowflake Ball in NYC where she auctioned off two backstage passes that sold for a total of $40,000 that went to the organization.

“Nothing is more important than helping children in need around the globe,” Gomez said. “I’m thankful that I can use my voice to bring awareness and much-needed funds to UNICEF so they can continue their critical work. Together, with my fans, we can save lives.”
