Wolfgang Van Halen Joins Tremonti Tour

Without any Van Halen dates on the books for the rest of 2012, that gives bassist Wolfgang Van Halen time to hit the road alongside Alter Bridge/Creed guitarist/songwriter Mark Tremonti for his first ever tour with his band Tremonti.

The tour, which also features Eric Friedman on rhythm guitar and Garrett Whitlock on drums, is in support of Tremonti’s debut album, All I Was. Released in July on Mark’s own FRET12 records, the album debuted in the top 30 on the Nielsen SoundScan chart and made it to no. 9 on the iTunes Top Albums Chart.

“I am excited to be joining the band and playing this incredible music with some of my best friends in the business,” Wolfgang said.

The next stop on the tour, which began this week with two gigs on the East Coast, is Sept. 20 in Flint, Mich. The U.S. routing includes stops in Chicago (Sept. 23); Orlando, Fla. (Sept. 28); Atlanta (Sept. 29); Nashville (Oct. 2) and Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 3) as well as appearances at KTBZ Buzzfest in The Woodlands, Texas (Oct. 6) and Bud Light Kiss Fall Fest (Oct. 7) in San Antonio.

After that Tremonti has a round of European shows lined up as well as three dates opening for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The Slash dates are scheduled in the U.K., Oct. 11-12 at the O2 Academy Brixton in London and Oct. 15 at the O2 Academy Newcastle.

Tickets are on sale now.
