Cee-Lo Green Pushes Back Vegas Residency
Green was scheduled to launch his residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in late August. However, citing his schedule for NBC’s “The Voice,” Green has pushed back the debut of “Loberace” to Feb. 27 with shows scheduled throughout March.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to be among the great music legends who have had a Las Vegas residency and I was very much looking forward to launching ‘Loberace’ this year,” Green said in a message posted on his website.
“But, as we move into the third season of ‘The Voice,’ with my dedicated commitment to the filming schedule and love for my role on the show, I will need to postpone the opening of ‘Loberace’ to early 2013. Most importantly, to all my fans who have already purchased tickets, please accept my sincerest apology and I hope you can still join me in Vegas next year, so I can properly and finally introduce you to my brainchild, ‘Loberace’! Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
What’s “Loberace”? When he announced the residency earlier this year, Green described the concept as “Part dance party, part live intimate concert” and said there would be “mind-twisting magic and sexified showgirls” along with “larger-than-life wardrobe and impressive stage design.”
“Loberace” is also a trip down memory lane with Green performing selections ranging from Prince to Blue Magic to The Rolling Stones as well as disco, new wave and his own hits.
But now we’ll have to wait until February to see what Green has cooked up. Meanwhile, fans holding tickets for the original dates can exchange them for new ones or refunds at points of purchase. Onsales begin Aug. 1. Visit CeeLoGreen.com for more information.
