Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Tour
Reverend Peyton, his wife Breezy and distant cousin Aaron “Cuz” Persinger are touring in support of their new album, Between The Ditches, scheduled for an Aug. 7 release on Side One. Filled with the band’s patented style of delta blues and hillbilly fever, the album was recorded at White Arc Studios in Bloomington, Ind., and produced by the Rev. along with Paul Mahern (John Mellencamp, Iggy Pop) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Black Keys, Dr. John, The Shins).
Unlike previous albums where Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band played straight through the session as if playing in front of an audience, the recording of Between The Ditches was a bit slower in the making. Or, as the Rev. himself said, “We approached it saying we were going to make a record this time, not just a recording.”
There will be plenty of chances to see Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band this summer. Additions to the touring schedule include Des Moines, Iowa (Aug. 2), Cincinnati (Aug. 6), Indianapolis (Aug. 7), Nashville (Aug. 8), Lexington, Ky., (Aug. 9) Toledo (Aug. 14) and Philadelphia (Aug. 15). But that’s just a brief overview and you really need to look at the schedule to appreciate the amount of traveling in store for the Reverend and his group.
