Rush Announces ‘Clockwork Angels’ Tour

The famed prog-rockers reveal a 33 city North American tour beginning in New Hampshire Sept. 7.

Shunned by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and dissed by music critics who weren’t even gleams in their parents’ eyes when Rush’s self-titled debut album was released in 1974, the Canadian band has sold more than 40 million records during its multi-decade career. Not too shabby for a group that never conformed to trends as it blazed its own path through the often fickle world of music.

Rush’s 20th album, Clockwork Angels, marks the band’s first album of new material in five years as well as their first release via Anthem/Roadrunner Records. The album lands in stores June 12.

The “Clockwork Angels” tour begins Sept. 7 in Manchester, N.H., at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Stops include Chicago’s United Center Sept. 15; Auburn Hills, Mich., at the Palace Of Auburn Hills Sept. 18; Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center Oct. 12; Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center Oct. 20; Brooklyn, N.Y., at Barclays Center Oct. 22; Boston’s TD Garden Oct. 24; Buffalo, N.Y., at First Niagara Center Oct. 26; Anaheim, Calif., at Honda Center Nov. 17 and Los Angeles at Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk Nov. 19.

Cities also on the tour include Pittsburgh (Sept. 11); Toronto, Ontario, (Oct. 14); Alpharetta, Ga., (Nov. 1); Phoenix (Nov. 25); and San Antonio (Nov. 30). Last stop on the tour is Houston’s Toyota Center Dec. 2.
