Train’s San Francisco Tour

Since putting out the band’s fifth album, Save Me, San Francisco, in 2009, Train still has the Golden State on its mind. The group’s sixth studio effort, California 37, is due out April 17 on Columbia Records.

The album’s first single, “Drive By,” has already entered the Top 10 on both the AAA and Hot AC formats and its also charting on the Top 40. 

On Tuesday Train shared the album cover art for California 37, complete with a sign for Route 37, the state highway connecting the four counties of the North Bay Area.

The San Francisco tour brings Train home to where the band got its start back in 1994. The run of shows begins April 10 at Café Du Nord, followed by an April 11 show at the Great American Music Hall and an April 12 gig at Bimbo’s 365 Club.

The next three stops are booked April 13 at Slim’s, April 14 at The Independent and finally April 15 at The Fillmore.

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to Family House, a San Francisco charity which provides temporary housing to families of seriously ill children. Train also donates a portion of proceeds to Family House from its Save Me, San Francisco Wine Company whenever fans buy Drops Of Jupiter, its 2009 Petite Sirah.

Tickets for select dates go on sale this Friday, Feb. 24. Tickets for the Fillmore show go on sale Feb. 26.

Additional upcoming Train appearances include March 16 at the Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo and May 2 in Paris at the Alhambra Theatre Music Hall.
