Bad Brains Announce Spring Plans
Before Bad Brains begin their 2012 tour schedule, fans can check out the new documentary based on the influential hardcore punk/reggae band at SXSW. “Bad Brains: Band in DC,” which is directed by Mandy Stein and Benjamen Logan, will be shown March 12 at the Vimeo Theatre in Austin, Texas, from 9 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. Check out the trailer at the end of this post. The East Coast dates kick off April 16 in Boston at Paradise Rock Club. Next up is two shows in New York. Bad Brains play NYC’s Irving Plaza April 17, followed by an April 18 gig in Brooklyn at Music Hall Of Williamsburg. The last confirmed date so far is April 19 at Philadelphia’s Trocadero Theatre.
The band promises another show will be added April 20.
GZA/Genius will be at the Brooklyn and Philadelphia shows. H2O will play Boston and New York City.
Bad Brains will also make an appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival, which is set for June 7-10 in Manchester, Tenn. The festival’s daily lineup hasn’t been announced yet.
Tickets for the Brooklyn show are on sale now. A pre-sale for the gig at NYC’s Irving Plaza begins Feb. 16. The general public onsale is Feb. 18. Tickets for the Boston and Philadelphia shows go on sale Feb. 17.
Bonnaroo’s general onsale is Feb. 18.
