Avicii’s House For Hunger Tour
Avicii, At Night Management and executive producer Arash “Ash” Pournouri will donate $1 million in fees received from the tour to Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. The donation will help provide approximately 8 million meals to those in need.
The DJ, producer and local promoters on the “House For Hunger” tour hope to raise awareness about hunger issues in the U.S. and inspire the next generation of leaders to continue the fight.
“Hunger hits everyone and the U.S. is not immune to it,” Avicii said. “For me personally when I found out how widespread the hunger problem in the United States actually was it blew my mind. I never would have imagined that 1 in 6 people struggle with hunger or that 1 in 4 children routinely do not get enough to eat.
“It feels right to kick off this movement of giving back in the U.S., seeing how many amazing experiences and opportunities America has given me over the past two years, as well as the support I’ve gotten from my fans here.”
The “House For Hunger” tour begins Jan. 5 at The Fillmore Detroit and runs through Jan. 31 in Amherst, Mass., at Mullins Center.
