Rolling Stones Tour Starting In May?
The tour will reportedly consist of 14 cities, with the first show scheduled May 24 in San Diego, according to SongMango.com.
The site, which notes that this information is not “officially confirmed,” says the schedule may include gigs at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver, as well as a Fourth of July show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Other possible locations include Milwaukee; Pittsburgh; Buffalo, N.Y.; and New York City (but not Manhattan). Canada will also get a visit from the Stones, which might include a festival appearance.
Along with a tour, SongMango reports the band is planning to re-issue 1971’s Sticky Fingers. The site says its information comes from “industry insiders, industry outsiders, scalawags, ragamuffins and the world’s greatest Rolling Stone fan website, Shidoobee.”
Various U.S. publications have picked up on the news including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Indianapolis Star and Minneapolis Star Tribune. As of the time of this post, the Rolling Stones hadn’t mentioned the tour on its website nor its Facebook or Twitter pages.
One of the media sources Wood recently spoke to was Detroit radio station WOMC. The guitarist told WOMC in February that the Stones planned on touring North America in June and July.
