Pono – Neil Young‘s music company that is launching a high-fidelity audio player and store in October – shifted around its top brass and quietly announced it on Pono’s Kickstarter page on late Friday.

John Hamm, the veteran tech executive who was named CEO of the company, has been replaced by Young, who was until now the creative director for the company.
“PonoMusic has been a mission of mine for many years, and I’m more passionate than ever about the prospects for its success,” Young said in a statement.
The player is expected to offer digital music at a higher sonic quality than iTunes, and albums should run in the $15 to $25 range.
A few investors commented on the Kickstarter page, questioning if Young has the business background to run the company.
