Pittsburgh’s Cleanup Plan
The aftermath of Luke Bryan’s June 21 concert at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field – namely, the mess left behind by some 50,000 fans – resulted in city and Allegheny County officials considering new policies to prevent a repeat.
Among the suggestions are the limiting of tailgating to five hours before shows and requiring promoters to post deposits to cover public costs. Discussions in the week after the concert included government and parking officials, representatives of the city’s three major sports teams, Mayor Bill Peduto and an international soccer match between Manchester City and AC Milan at Heinz Field the next day.
