Singing Posters Promote NZ Music
New Zealand Music Month, which through May coordinates activities to promote local music, is using interactive street posters to press the message home.
In a claimed world-first, touch technology turns the back of the poster into an 80-watt speaker that blasts out 12 minutes of new music from 10 acts.
Beer brand Beck’s New Zealand, which sponsors the event, took the idea from its playable beer bottles from 18 months ago.
The technology was invented in Cambridge, England, but never used commercially before, said brand manager Pete Dick. The posters were used in six major cities.
