Church Cancels Scalped Tickets
Church’s management found more than 900 of the tickets sold for his Sept. 16 show at the arena had been purchased in violation of the sales limits for the event, according to KMSP-TV.
The tickets, which were reportedly being sold for as much as $847, were canceled and are scheduled to go back on sale May 2.
“Orders that were canceled were automatically refunded to the purchaser’s credit card,” Q Prime South’s VP of touring, Fielding Logan, told Pollstar. “Ticket scalpers got their money back and we would expect that scalpers would in turn refund their customers. But you never know! As Eric recently said, ‘[Scalpers] are just some slimy sons of bitches’’ Fans would have a strong case for contesting charges with their credit card company if they paid for something that the seller didn’t deliver.
“By the way, of the 902 tickets we canceled last week, we have only heard from two customers so far. Both customers were from outside the state of Minnesota, and we offered to allow the sales as long as we could put their tickets at will call for pick up night of show under their names. They both declined our offer and proceeded with the refunds.”
Church recently told CMT he wants his shows to be filled with fans and the scalpers to back off. “I can’t stop ticket scalpers completely, but I can definitely make it harder for them,’ he said.
