Roc Nation Unified Forms Under Yormark Brothers’ Leadership
– Brett Yormark
Yormark and Jay-Z, who owned a portion of Barclays Center at the time, have a discussion during the NCAA tournament game between Kentucky and Maryland in 2012.
Brothers Brett and Michael Yormark will serve as co-CEOs of Roc Nation Unified, Roc Nation’s new full-service agency for athletes, artists, events, venues, leagues, teams and brands, the company announced Oct. 3.
Brett has collaborating with Roc Nation for nearly 15 years while working with Brooklyn Sports Entertainment Global, of which he was most recently CEO. Through that relationship the Brooklyn Nets moved into their new home, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and reopened Manhattan’s Webster Hall.
“Throughout his career, Brett Yormark has proven himself to be a leading executive across the sports and entertainment landscape,” Roc Nation CEO and co-founder Jay Brown said in a statement. “During his time with BSE Global, Roc Nation and Brett collaborated on groundbreaking projects and partnerships, and we look forward to continuing to build on that success.”
Brett will once again be working with Mike Zavodsky, Roc Nation Unified’s US President of Sports and Event sales. He had previously revealed he would be moving to a new position, but vowed to oversee the transition of the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center to new ownership under Joe Tsai, the co-founder Alibaba.
The Associated Press reported last month that Tsai bought out all remaining shares of ownership in the team and venue for approximately $3.4 billion dollars.
Michael Yormark has been working as Roc Nation’s President and Chief of branding strategy since 2014. Prior to that he was CEO of Sunrise Sports & Entertainment.
