Katie Vinten Establishes Black Diamond Management

Industry staple Katie Vinten has launched Black Diamond Artist Management, with her initial roster containing songwriters and producers. The company is based in Los Angeles.

Vinten’s initial clients include Justin Tranter, Zach Skelton, Boy Matthews, and Caroline Pennell. Collectively the group has written for the likes of Justin Bieber, Imagine Dragons, Bebe Rexha, Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers, Lil Nas X, Hayden James and Gallant.

Vinten came up under Jon Platt, initially working as his assistant at EMI. She followed Platt to Warner Chappell, where she was director of A&R for pop music and later SVP and co-head of A&R. 

At the end of last year Vinten and Tranter founded FACET Records and Publishing as joint ventures through Warner Records. 

“One of the first times I went skiing, I decided to forego the intermediate trail and try the black diamond after some quiet teasing nudging from my biggest fan, my now-husband, Aaron Vinten. I went flying off my skiis, but I got back up,” Vinten said in a statement. “I’ll never forget the experience. I made it. I try to recapture that feeling as much as possible in my life. I realized you can do so much more than you think you can, you just have to try. As a manager, record executive and publisher, I’m serving clients by showing them their greatest potential.”

While the company currently only works with writers and producers, Vinten has said she is looking for “that special recording artist client.”
