With just two dates remaining on her “Beautiful Trauma” world tour, Pink makes a stand at No. 1 on LIVE75 based on five August concerts at the four most recent venues on her tour schedule – two in Europe and two in North America. The five shows produced a sold ticket average of 25,634 to earn the top ranking and grossed an average of $2.7 million, the highest of all the touring artists on the chart.
The two European dates were the tour’s final stops on the continent – the first at Veltins Arena Aug. 9 in the German city of Gelsenkirchen. The stadium drew a crowd of 34,276 and logged a gross of $3.3 million. Then on the 11th she played an outdoor event at Malieveld located in The Hague, Netherlands. Attendance at the sold-out event registered 46,271 with a $4.2 million take at the box office. Back in the western hemisphere, she performed for a capacity crowd of 12,738 at Nassau Coliseum on New York’s Long Island Aug. 16 followed by make-up dates of two performances at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena Aug. 18-19, originally booked in May but rescheduled due to illness.
Next month Pink will headline the second-to-last day of Rio de Janeiro’s annual Rock In Rio festival, and the final event of the tour will be an appearance at Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix Weekend in Austin, Texas, Nov. 2.
Colombian reggaeton star Maluma debuts as the HOT SHOT artist of the week after box office success at the first two arenas on his fall tour, both set in California markets. With shows in 27 North American cities booked through mid-December, he opened the North American leg of his “11:11” world tour with September concerts at San Diego’s Pechanga Arena and the Forum in Inglewood, where he packed the house on two nights. He enters the chart at No. 14 based on a 10,820-ticket sales average from both venues.
Grammy Award winner
Kacey Musgraves, who carves out her own niche in the country music genre, also makes an impression on the LIVE75 chart as this week’s BREAKTHROUGH artist. She scores a 99% sellout average from nine concerts on her “Oh, What a World” theater tour that earns her the No. 33 ranking with a ticket average of 4,426. Eight of the nine venues recorded 100% sellouts and the other venue was close, moving 99% of its available tickets. So far in 2019, 35 of her concerts have been reported to Pollstar with sellout crowds logged at all but six of them for a year-to-date sellout average of 93.2%. This marks the country headliner’s second consecutive week in the LIVE75 tally after making her debut at No. 30 in the Sept. 16 issue.
