Lotta Love: Neil Young and The Promise of the Real headined and closed-out a phenomenal day one at the Arroyo Seco Festival in Pasadena Calif., on June 23, 2018

Neil Young, Norah Jones and Father John Misty will perform at Harvest Moon, a daytime benefit concert to take place at the Painted Turtle camp in Lake Hughes, Calif., Sept. 14.
Audiences will take in world-class cuisine and performances on a grassy hillside with views of the performers, mountains, and a beautiful lake nestled near the Los Angeles National Forest. Ticket quantities are strictly limited in order to provide an intimate experience, with all proceeds for the event going to The Painted Turtle (a non-profit providing children living with serious medical conditions a traditional camp experience free of charge) and The Bridge School (who provide free education to children with severe speech and physical impediments).
Gates open at noon with the marimba ensemble Masanga playing as attendees arrive, followed by musical performances by Misty, Jones and Young, with the event winding down at sundown. Shortly after the date for the event was selected and Young agreed to perform, organizers realized that Sept. 14 was the day of the night of the Harvest Moon, which enhances the uniqueness of the occasion.
Included with each ticket is an all-star celebrity chef picnic cooked and served by Southern California’s top chefs, and a beer and wine tasting from select California breweries and wineries. A limited number of “Sponsor Packages” will be made available, which include a Saturday, September 14th overnight cabin and camping experience, chef-designed gourmet dinner, campfire performance by Lisa Loeb, and Sunday, September 15th brunch and camp activities.
Tickets go on sale at 10 am PT Friday, July 19.
The Harvest Moon benefit comes after the end of Neil and Pegi Young’s long-running annual Bridge School Benefit concerts that took to place from 1986 to 2016. Those shows featured acoustic performances from high profile artists at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif.  Neil and Pegi Young are divorced.
Neil Young’s longtime agent, Marsha Vlasic at Artist Group International, previously told Pollstar the Bridge School benefits changed her life, adding “every single one of those shows had an impact on my life and a labor of love.”
