John Davisson – J Balvin
With anime and colorful cartoon figurines by his side, Colombian superstar J Balvin makes history by being the first reggaetón act to bring back urbano to Coachella’s Main Stage on April 13 in Indo, Calif.
Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin announced a major North America arena tour on Monday.
The “Arcoiris” tour – Spanish for “rainbow” – kicks off Aug. 30 at Coliseo De Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The tour then picks back up in mainland North America on Sept. 11 at Atlanta’s Infinite Energy Center and concludes Oct. 26 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
J Balvin’s itinerary includes Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena (Sept. 21), New York’s Madison Square Garden (Sept. 29) and several California dates.

J Balvin will embark on the “Arcoiris” tour this fall.
The tour routes Balvin through several venues he has already headlined. Balvin will return to Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena on Sept. 14, where he sold 10,089 tickets and grossed $713,782 last October. He’ll also visit EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Va., and Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas, where last fall he grossed $372,262 and $403,469, respectively.
Lyanno and Eladio Carrión will provide support for the Live Nation-produced tour.
Balvin made waves with his Coachella performances last month and he’s one of eight headliners billed for this year’s Lollapalooza, slated for Aug. 1-4 in Chicago. Before then, Balvin heads overseas for a European tour.
A force on the Colombian charts for the last decade, high-profile collaborations with major American artists have helped Balvin crossover. In 2017, “Mi Gente,” Balvin’s song with Willy William, peaked at No. 19 on Billboard‘s Hot 100; a remix featuring Beyoncé hit No. 3. And last year, Balvin collaborated with Cardi B and Bad Bunny on “I Like It,” which topped the Hot 100.
The chart success led to Balvin’s most successful year on the road: The star grossed $6.1 million, landing him on Pollstar‘s Year End Top 200 North American Tours chart. Tour highlights included a two-night September stand at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., where Balvin sold 23,728 tickets and grossed $1.8 million, and a headlining gig at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center where Balvin sold 12,154 tickets and grossed $1 million.
Tickets for the “Arcoiris” tour go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Find the complete list of dates below.
