Ty Segall Announces Residencies Featuring Full Album Renditions

Ty Segall will perform several of his albums in full later this year.

Prolific garage-rocker Ty Segall announced residencies in Los Angeles, New York City and four European cities on Tuesday.

Along with to be announced sets, every show will feature Segall and his Freedom Band playing full albums from the musician’s extensive catalog.

Beginning July 26, Segall will perform at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom for 10 consecutive Fridays. The first three he’ll play 2010’s Melted, the fourth and fifth he’ll play 2011’s Goodbye Bread, the sixth and seventh he’ll play 2016’s Emotional Mugger and the final three he’ll play 2014’s Manipulator.

In early October, Segall heads to Brooklyn’s Warsaw for five consecutive nights. He’ll play Melted on Oct. 1 and 2, Goodbye Bread on Oct. 3, Emotional Mugger on Oct. 4 and Manipulator on Oct. 5.

Both American venues are familiar turf for Segall, who headlined the Teragram six times and Warsaw five times over 2017 and 2018.

“The first 500 people to purchase 3 or more tickets to different LA shows will receive a limited 7” of new, unreleased music,” a press release states. “The first 500 people who buy 3 or more tickets to different NYC shows will get an exclusive, limited poster created and signed by Segall in New York.”

Days later, Segall will take the tour overseas, playing Melted and Manipulator in shows at Paris’ La Cigale on Oct. 9 and 10, respectively. He’ll then play three shows in at London’s Oval Space on Oct. 11 (Melted), Oct. 12 (Goodbye Bread) and Oct. 13 (Manipulator), a show at Berlin’s Festsaal Kreuzberg (Oct. 15, Melted) and two shows at Patronaat in the Dutch town of Haarlem (Oct. 17, Melted; Oct. 18, Manipulator).

Last month, Segall released Deforming Lobes, a live album recorded with the Freedom Band. In 2018, Segall released several albums: Freedom’s Goblin, under his own name; Joy, with frequent collaborator White Fence; covers album Fudge Sandwich; cassette-only Orange Rainbow; and The C.I.A., the eponymous debut of his band with wife Denée Segal.
