Ari Greenburg Named President Of WME
Endeavor president Mark Shapiro, who was just appointed to the role Dec. 10, announced in an internal note today that Ari Greenburg will be the new president of WME, overseeing the agency’s offices in Beverly Hills, New York, Nashville, London and Sydney.
The note read: “Over the past few years, Ari has taken on a host of new responsibilities and played an integral role in shaping the vision for the future of the agency. He is a dealmaker without peer, cares deeply about his colleagues, and knows the industry inside and out…As we move into this next chapter, Ari is uniquely positioned to bring WME to new heights. He comes from television, but his curiosity and commitment to our leading role in the entertainment industry are extraordinary.”
Greenburg was Endeavor’s first trainee to be promoted to agent and later became the agency’s first homegrown partner. As a part of the executive committee, he helped lead the expansion of offices and the William Morris Agency merger in 2009.
A strength of Greenburg is television, as he has worked on deals for clients like Amblin Partners, Greg Berlanti, Dan Fogelman, and worked on the shows “This Is Us,” “Westworld,” “Sharp Objects,” Riverdale,” “The OC,” “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Arrow,” and “Flash.”
“The past four years have marked Endeavor’s most pivotal stage of growth, and Mark has played a critical role in getting us to where we are today,” Ariel Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor said at the time of Shapiro’s appointment to his new position. “Mark’s leadership, creativity and drive will help Patrick and me as we continue to scale Endeavor and realize its full potential.” Emanuel was the closing keynote speaker for this year’s VenuesNow Conference.
This is just the latest of business moves made by Endeavor, who also named Dan Limerick its Head of Business Affairs in November. Prior to that Bozoma Saint John was named chief marketing officer in June. Saint John will be speaking at Pollstar Live! in February.
In late 2017 WME | IMG announced the formation of the holding company Endeavor, which took on the full portfolio of brands formerly under the WME | IMG banner, including WME, IMG, UFC, and PBR.
