SeatGeek Opens Office In Italy
– Jack Groetzinger
CEO and co-founder of SeatGeek
SeatGeek today announced the launch of SeatGeek Italia, which grows the company’s global footprint.
SeatGeek Italia will work with sports teams, as well as arts and music venues, who will be able to leverage SeatGeek’s SRO ticketing technology, which provides clients with tools like the rules-based engine, dynamic pricing and a CRM oriented platform.
SeatGeek’s CEO and co-founder Jack Groetzinger believes it to be the “most powerful technology in live entertainment.”
As part of the launch of SeatGeek Italia, SeatGeek has taken full ownership of TopTix Ribes, the Italian branch of TopTix, which SeatGeek acquired last year.
TopTix Ribes comes along with a client base in Italy that includes venues like the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan and Teatro Comunale di Vicenza.
“The future focus will be on extending the performing arts and music client base, as well as adding teams from the major sports leagues in Italy, including Serie A and Lega Basket Serie A,” a company statement reads.
Matteo Tradardi, managing director of SeatGeek Italia, said: “Italy has one of the most vibrant arts scenes in the world, as well as some of the top sports leagues. With SeatGeek’s increased focus on the Italian market we are excited to help more fans attend the live events they love.”
Groetzinger added: “We see the Italian market as a huge growth opportunity, as we continue to see momentum in SeatGeek’s other markets.”
The New York-based company now has offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Netherlands and Italy. SeatGeek’s SRO technology is used by some of the biggest venues in the world, including the 100,000 seat AT&T Stadium.
In the UK several clubs of the English Premier League use SeatGeek’s SRO technology, as do many of the West End Theaters in London. In Israel, where TopTix is from, basketball league leaders Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C. use SeatGeek’s SRO technology for both their Israeli Premier League games as well as their EuroLeague games.
Earlier this year, SeatGeek and Snapchat announced a partnership. The ticketing company is also the new naming rights partner of the Chicago Fire Major League Soccer Team’s stadium.
