Ginger, Sporty, Baby & Scary are back!
More than 700,000 fans were queuing for tickets for the Spice Girls reunion tour in the UK next year, making it the “busiest ever sale” for Ticketmaster UK.
Ticketmaster MD Andrew Parsons said, “demand for Spice Girls was off the chart. They have smashed through Ticketmaster UK’s records becoming the busiest ever sale.
“There were millions of people on our site searching for tickets, with a queue at one point of well over 700,000. Hundreds of thousands of tickets were sold to happy fans across the country within minutes. Congratulations to the girls. From what we saw, they could have played nearly every night for a year.”
The demand caused promoters SJM and Live Nation to add more dates, two at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, May 29/31, one at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, June 4, and two at London’s Wembley Stadium, June 13/14.
John Gidding’s of Solo Agency told Pollstar: “It’s incredible. You never know till it happens. They called it right. Modest [Management], [SJM’s] Simon Moran and Live Nation have done a brilliant job. Congratulations to them all!”
