Slightly Stoopid Is Just Passing Through North America
Reggae-rock veterans Slightly Stoopid will tour North American theaters throughout November with special guest Hirie.
The “Just Passing Through” tour opens Nov. 2 at First Avenue in Minneapolis and continues for two months, wrapping Nov. 18 at The Strand in Providence, R.I. Slightly Stoopid is also putting on its fifth Closer To The Sun destination event in Mexico Nov. 30 through Dec. 4.
The band is hyping its album Everyday Life, Everyday People, which dropped July 13. The band recently concluded its amphitheatre tour with Pepper and Stick Figure.
That tour put up grosses like $332,723 at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena At Harveys in Stateline, Nev.; $217,205 at Greek Theatre At UC Berkeley in Berkeley, Calif.; and $177,638 at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas.
Slightly Stoopid’s manager, Jon Phillips of Silverback Artist Management, recently spoke to Pollstar about the band’s pioneering of cannabis branding and engagement with the cannabis-lifestyle crowd.
“The fact of the matter is it’s become more acceptable, the stigma is gone, and the bands that I’ve worked with have always professed their affinity for it and the freedom that comes along with it,” Phillips said. “Do promoters want to get on the lifestyle bandwagon and support cannabis-branded tours? I would say of course, because that’s a big audience.”
