Ms. Lauryn Hill & John Legend To Play Switzerland’s 33rd Baloise Session
– Baloise Session
Despite a relatively small capacity of 1,500, the event has never failed to attract big names to Basel, Switzerland
The Baloise Session, which takes place in Basel, Switzerland, Oct. 18–Nov. 8, once again managed to secure some high-profile acts that are going to take the stage in the intimate 1,500-capcity Basel Event Hall.
Aside from Grammy winners Ms. Lauryn Hill (Nov. 5) and John Legend (Oct. 20-21), the line-up includes Ben Harper Lo & Leduc, George Ezra, Jimmy Cliff, Sunrise Avenue, who are going to open Baloise Session on Oct. 19, and more.
“With great effort and attention to detail, we have once more compiled special musical tales for our visitors, taking them on a journey from the biggest Swiss hits to Brazil’s hottest supergroup, from an international star solo on the piano to a reggae legend. So once again this year we can deliver musical moments that promise to be unique and unforgettable – just like our intimate, candle-lit club-like setting,” said Beatrice Stirnimann, CEO of Baloise Session.
2018 marks the 33rd Beloise Session. As usual, all concerts are held in the Event Hall of the Basel Fair, which is set up to resemble the old music clubs in New York: small, round tables, close to the stage.
Speaking to Pollstar ahead of last year’s edition, Stirnimann explained how the Baloise Session, despite its small capacity, developed into a premium event has secured artists including Miles Davis, James Brown, Pink, Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Alicia Keys and many other big names throughout its history.
