Counting Crows Announces ‘25 Years And Counting’ Tour

Counting Crows is celebrating hitting the quarter century mark with a worldwide tour dubbed “25 Years And Counting.” Today the band unveiled the first leg of dates – a North American excursion featuring more than 40 cities. 

Since releasing their debut studio album, August and Everything After, in 1993, frontman Adam Duritz and the gang have put in lots of time on the road and sold more than 20 million albums globally. The rock band put out its seventh studio album, Somewhere Under Wonderland, in 2014. The track “Dislocation” was included on Rolling Stone’s list of the 50 Best Songs of 2014 with a write-up declaring that group had “come through with an alt-rock burner full of self-deprecating wit.”

The 25th anniversary tour kicks off June 27 in Boise, Idaho. Dates are booked from coast to coast, with stops including multiple nights in California, Las Vegas, Houston, Boston, Toronto, Detroit and Kansas City. Counting Crows will be joined by special guest Live on most gigs. 

 “The nice thing about having 25 years of music to celebrate and seven studio albums we absolutely love to choose from is that we can play a different show every night,” Duritz said in a statement. “The nice thing about touring with Live is that we get to spend yet another summer with old friends who play great music. We can’t wait!”

Last year Counting Crows spent the summer and early fall touring with matchbox twenty on an outing that included sold-out shows at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, Washington’s Spokane Arena and Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.
