A statement by the San Angelo Police Department dated Oct. 30 says it executed a search warrant at Garza’s home, adding that it was issued July 25 authorizing police to “seize electronic devices belonging to Garza on suspicion of possession of child pornography.”
The warrant was based on a report of child abuse involving a 13-year-old girl, police said.
It’s not clear when Garza’s home was searched, or if charges are pending. To date, no charges have been filed nor arrests made in the case.
The investigation isn’t the first scandal for Garza and his wife, Lenora. In 2005, the couple were investigated in a case in which two women alleged the couple invited them to their home, where they said they were drugged and raped, according to the Houston Chronicle. They were arrested and ultimately charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana in a case that was ultimately dropped, according to UPI.
Los Lonely Boys, a band of three brothers hailing from San Angelo, has a three-night run of dates at Antone’s in Austin, Texas, Nov. 16-18 remaining on the books before taking a break until March.
The band has been a touring force since breaking on the scene with its eponymous 2004 debut, recorded at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales studio in Austin, which yielded the Grammy-winning single, “Heaven.”
Los Lonely Boys have generated more than $15 million in ticket sales over its career, averaging $44,550 in gross sales and 1,377 tickets sold per show.
An email to Los Lonely Boys’ representatives was not returned at press time.
