Uncle Kracker Guitarist Kevin McCreery Dies

Kevin McCreery, 53, best known as lead guitarist for Uncle Kracker, died Sept. 14 after a battle with cancer, confirmed by friends and colleagues.

McCreery had a solo project called AvantGardeDog and was involved in the Louisville, Ky., music community with projects such as Velvet Saints, the Griswalds, Dev & Kev and others.

He played guitar with Tantric before joining Uncle Kracker.

The Machine Shop in Flint, Mich., posted a tribute to McCreery on its Facebook page, noting the Michigan native had played the venue numerous times.
