More than 200 acts played the 12th edition of Kendal Calling, including Manic Street Preachers, Franz Ferdinand, Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds, Jake Bugg, Slaves, Frank Turner, and Kate Nash. Stereophonics, which headlined on Friday, “bought the biggest main stage crowd in Kendal Calling history,” according to a statement from promoter From The Fields, which said it was the “best year yet.”
Tinie Tempah closed the main stage on Sunday to a huge fireworks display. Many visitors dressed up as animals on Saturday, following the “Into The Wild” fancy dress theme of that day.
Director Andy Fields said “the Kendal Calling family is a hardy bunch who, as always, brought their amazing energy, humor and fun and we’d like to thank everyone for joining us in the fields for a classic Kendal Calling.”
