Germany: Ticketmaster, Sexual Assaults

TM Germany Hires Sports Sales Director

Timo Skrzypski, the former CEO of German football club Alemannia Aachen, has joined Ticketmaster Germany in the new role of Sales Director Sports July 1.

Skrzypski’s main task will be to secure clients from the football and sports business in general for Ticketmaster, according to sponsors.de.

He’ll report to Ticketmaster’s international management team, which consists of David Hamilton, Mark Yovich and Klaus Zemke.

According to Musikwoche, Skrzypski’s past roles include senior positions at MSV Duisburg and Hertha BSC, two other German football teams, as well as Arsenal London, a club that’s already using Ticketmaster.

More Sexual Assaults Reported

Several festivalgoers at two different events in south Germany reported sexual assaults to police over the July 14-16 weekend.

Several women at both the Holi Festival in Böblingen and a public city festival in Schorndorf, some 60km away, reported sexual assaults, some committed by refugees and migrants, to police.

In Schondorf, three Afghan migrants as well as one 20-year-old man from Iraq were reported as perpetrators, police president in charge Roland Eisele told welt.de.

Schondorf also suffered from riots Saturday night, July 15, when a large number of young festivalgoers faced off police on the city’s castle grounds (Schlosspark).

Both police and the local mayor vowed to increase police presence at the festival in the coming years.

At the Holi Festival in Boblingen, five young women reported a group of drunken asylum-seekers from Afghanistan, accusing the men of groping and sexually insulting them.

Two 18-year-olds were arrested and later released but not allowed back onto the festival site.
