Imagine Dragons Announces Album, Tour
Now that you’ve had some time to soak up Imagine Dragon’s new tunes, “Believer” and “Thunder,” the band has officially announced a release date for its third album and the initial routing for its 2017 world tour.
Evolve is due out June 23 via KIDinaKORNER and Interscope. Pre-orders of the album come with instant downloads of the tracks “Believer,” “Thunder” and “Whatever It Takes.”
“Whatever It Takes” was released today and is available to stream or purchase via streaming sites and online retailers.
There’s a good chance you’ll be hearing “Whatever It Takes” on the radio soon. After all, Believer” spent six weeks at No. 1 at Alternative Radio, beating out Linkin Park’s record for number of spins on the format. Linkin previously held the record for the single “Faint” in 2003.
“Believer” was released in February as the album’s lead single and was used in a Super Bowl commercial for Nintendo Switch.
The LP’s second single, “Thunder,” is also making its way up the rock charts.

The album’s title is meant to be taken literally. During an interview with ABC News Radio several months ago, frontman Dan Reynolds said, “I feel like it’s definitely an evolution for Imagine Dragons, but what kind of evolution, I can’t say yet.”
He added, “The music feels very real to us. I’m just really excited for people to hear it.”
Following a run of festival appearances in Europe this summer, Imagine Dragons launches the “Evolve Tour” on Sept. 26 in Phoenix, Ariz., with a gig at Talking Stick Resort Arena. The band is bringing along Grouplove and K.Flay as support.
Cities on the routing include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Denver, Detroit, Brooklyn, Boston and Orlando. The tour makes its way back to the West Coast to conclude Nov. 16 at the Honda Center in Anahaim, Calif.
Citi is the official credit card of the tour and is hosting a presale for its cardmembers that begins May 16 at 10 a.m. through the Citi Private Pass program.
AT&T customers can also purchase tickets starting May 16 at 10 a.m.
Tickets go on sale to the general public May 19 at 10 a.m. All times local.
