Chris Robinson Brotherhood Announces Summer Gigs

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood is promising to reveal a release date for its upcoming studio album soon, but for now the band has confirmed the first leg of gigs for the “Barefoot In The Head” tour. 

The album – which shares its name with the tour – is due out in late summer. The project is the follow-up to 2016’s If You Lived Here, You Would Be Home By Now.

Fans won’t have to wait that long for their CRB fix. The band’s latest edition of its Betty’s Blends’ live album series, Betty’s Blends, Vol. 3: Self-Rising, Southern Blends, is set for release May 5. The three-LP set features performances from CRB’s U.S. tour in 2015 that were recorded, mixed and hand-selected by recording engineer and Grateful Dead archivist Betty Cantor-Jackson.

The “Barefoot In the Head” tour begins with an Aug. 9 show Wilmington, N.C., at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre. Along with 14 headline dates, this week’s announcement includes a July 7 appearance at the Oregon County Fair in Veneta, Ore., and a Sept. 23 set at the debut Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, K.Y., at Champions Park.

The last confirmed headline performance is Aug. 26 in Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club. 

Previously announced dates include an appearance at “Freaks For The Festival” in Big Sur, Calif., this weekend and a May 17 “Summerstage” gig with Gov’t Mule at Rumsey Playfield / Central Park.
