AEG Ogden’s Harvey Lister Lauded At Tourism Awards

He was made Tourism Legend at the 2017 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Darwin. Daniel Gschwind, chair of the Australian Tourism Awards and CEO of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council, said Lister’s achievements extended beyond Australia.
“Harvey is highly regarded across the country and Asia Pacific for his work in the events industry, delivering over 30,000 major events over the past 40 years, attracting thousands of visitors and injecting millions into local economies,” he said.
He is also a founding member of the Asia Pacific Venue Management Association and Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
Past accolades include the International Executive Sport and Entertainment Award from the University of South Carolina (2007); and the Barnum Award for excellence in venue management globally from US based Feld Entertainment (2009).
AEG Ogden manages more than 200,000 seats in 21 venues across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. It is part of the U.S.-based AEG family of 130-plus venues across five continents.
In December 2016, it was appointed as manager of the 20,000-seat Dubai Arena, which opens in 2018. In the same month, the Queensland government extended its management of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for a further five years, noting that during its 21-year tenure, it brought 14 million guests to Queensland and contributed almost A$4 million ($3.04 million) to the state’s economy.
