Graceland To Host Elvis B-Day Celebration

Elvis’s former home at Graceland will host a party for the King with a series of events over several days, including a performance by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

The celebration is scheduled Jan. 5-8 in Memphis, Tenn. One highlight will be an auction of artifacts associated with Elvis on Jan. 7. That event will be held at The Guest House at Graceland, which is a new hotel located near the actual mansion. The Birthday Proclamation Ceremony takes place Jan. 8 on Graceland’s north lawn. Complimentary cake and coffee will be served afterward at the nearby Chrome Grille restaurant.

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra and singer/songwriter Terry Mike Jeffrey will perform songs featured in your favorite Elvis films Jan. 7 at the Cannon Center For The Performing Arts.

Elvis would have been 82 years old on Jan. 8 and it will be 40 years since he passed on Aug. 16.
