The show will be Feb. 18 at Foro Pegaso just outside of Toluca. The announcement came in the form of a press conference from Iván Aguilera, the sole heir to Gabriel’s estate and Gustavo Farías, the upcoming show’s producer.
Other artists scheduled to perform at “Eternamente Juana Gabriel” include David Bisbal, Luis Fonsi, Yuri, Aida Cuevas, Shaila Durcal, Fernando de la Mora, and La India, according to Vanguardia.
“The event we are putting on is going to be very big, very ambitious, with an incredible cast and a huge surprise that I’m sure will get the hearts of all Juan Gabriel fans beating,” Farías said at the press conference. Rumors has it that the surprise he is referencing might be a holographic performance from the now-deceased artist’s likeness.
Aguilera said Gabriel’s other children will be invited to the celebration, including Luis Alberto Aguilera, his illegitimate son who was kept secret from the public until very recently, and Jaoa Gabriel Auguilera, Juanga’s son who is suing Iván for a share of the estate.
It is expected that the show will be attended by 70,000. Tickets go on sale Jan. 2.
