Odds & Ends: Cypress Hill, Switchfoot, Grouplove

Cypress Hill’s eponymous debut album turned 25 earlier this year, and the band is continuing the celebration by sponsoring a set of emojis.

The company Emoji Fame partnered with the band to create more than 100 unique icons referencing the Cypress Hill’s songs and stage presence. Some of the images are of B-Real in a lowrider, a skull smoking and song lyrics like “Insane in the membrane.”

The emojis are now available for purchase in the iTunes app store for 99 cents.

Cypress Hill has its annual “Haunted Hill” show scheduled for Oct. 28 at Terminal 5 in New York.

Despite being in the middle of a tour, Switchfoot is inviting its fans to a weekly lunch. Well, a livestream lunch anyway.

The band announced today that it would be holding “All Request Lunch Live” every Friday on its Facebook page. During the lunch, fans will be able to request songs, ask questions and get updates from the band on how the tour is going.

You can also just watch them eat, if you’re into that.

The “Looking For America Tour” with Relient K is in full swing, on which Switchfoot is showcasing tunes from its latest album, Where The Light Shines Through. The next gig is tomorrow in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the House of Blues and the routing has the guys moving across the country, eventually wrapping in San Francisco Nov. 26.

Fans looking to see all the different sides of Grouplove are in for a treat, as Facebook used its Surround 360 technology to capture one of the band’s performances in a panoramic video.

In the video the band plays the song “Welcome To Your Life” off its 2016 release Big Mess. It is currently available for view on the band’s Facebook page. In it, you can rotate your view a full 360 degrees and see different memb in Columbus, Ohio. The group finishes its headline routing with a two-night stand at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas Nov. 18-19. Then there are festivals through December and some gigs planned in Australia around New Year’s  Eve and early January.
