Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley Partners With Cannabis Company
The company, Ocean Grown Extracts, recently won approval from the Coalinga, Calif., city council to take over the Claremont Custody Center and turn the one-time prison into a vast growing operation. Ocean Grown Extracts is just one of many companies expecting to harvest primo profits if voters pass a proposition on the November ballot legalizing recreational marijuana usage. In 1996 voters passed a proposition making California first state to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes.
The partnership between the reggae musician and the pot company has also resulted in Marley’s “Speak Life” cannabis vapor pen. Marley worked with an Ocean Grown chemist to develop a proprietary extract called “Speak Life.”
This isn’t Marley’s first venture into the legal weed universe. He recently announced a partnership with Colorado-based Tru Cannabis.
“Many people have sacrificed so much for the herb over the years who got locked up,” Marley said. “If this helps people and it’s used for medicinal purposes and inspires people, it’s a success.”
