Paris Hosts Drone Festival
The French capital’s famous boulevard Champs-Elysees turned into a racing track for remote-controlled racing drones Sept. 4. No cars are allowed on Champs-Elysees on the first Sunday of every month.

On Sept. 4, a stretch of about 140 meters had been equipped with obstacles and checkpoints to form a racing track for the drones. It was secured with nets to protect spectators in case one of the many pilots from all over the world lost control, which didn’t happen. The Paris postal service took the opportunity to demonstrate its own delivery drone.
France is the biggest market for civilian drones, france24.com reports. The city of Paris will open up two parks – Bois de Boulonge in the west, and Parc de la Villette in the north – for drone enthusiasts every Sunday starting Sept. 18.
