Opry To Host Aldean’s ‘Concert For The Cure’
The show is set for Oct. 25 and other performing artists have not yet been revealed. During the set Aldean will be playing against the venue’s signature barn backdrop turned pink in honor of the ongoing fight against breast cancer.
This will be the eighth year the Opry has hosted the “Opry Goes Pink” fundraiser event, with last year’s shindig featuring Kacey Musgraves. $5 of each ticket sold for this show will go to Women Rock For The Cure.
Aldean, who was recently recognized as this year’s ACM Entertainer of the Year, has long been an advocate for finding a cure for breast cancer, after losing a friend to the disease. During this year’s “Six String Circus” tour, Aldean donated a portion of each ticket sold to cancer research and invited a breast cancer survivor backstage for a meet & greet.
During the performance at the Opry, Aldean will present the donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation from his ticket sales in the form of a check. Last year’s “Concert for a Cure” was hosted at the
“Finding a cure for breast cancer is something I’ll continue to fight for the rest of my life,” said Aldean. “Bringing the show back to Nashville this year as part of a special Opry performance where I will have so many friends and family in the crowd will be a good reminder of why we need to continue to fight this terrible disease.”
