Steve Martin & Martin Short On Tour

A few dates have been added to the delightful Steve Martin/Martin Short co-headline tour that’s being called “An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life.” The evening features stand-up, film clips and musical numbers.

The two Amigos begin their journey with a Sept. 23 gig at Kansas City’s Arvest Bank Theatre At The Midland. Dates are booked through Oct. 30 at the Prudential Hall in Newark, N.J.

An announcement from Prudential Hall says fans should “expect nonstop laughs as the hilarious duo recall their iconic careers, creative influences and memorable encounters, uniquely presented through banter, singing and banjo playing.”

The funnymen should have plenty to talk about and endless stories to share. Perhaps Martin will talk about his career on “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” or his time as a stand-up on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” Maybe Short will chat about some of his characters on “Saturday Night Live” like lawyer Nathan Thurm or songwriter Irving Cohen. The comedians/actors have appeared in a handful of movies together over the years, most famously “Three Amigos” and “Father Of The Bride.”

Steep Canyon Rangers will be joining the duo on tour. Martin and the bluegrass band collaborated on the 2011 album Rare Bird Alert and have frequently performed together.
