Tom Jones Cancels Asia

A statement released by the 75-year-old singer’s management company stated, “Due to a serious illness in his immediate family, Tom Jones has regretfully had to cancel his performances.”

The statement did not identify the family member who is ill, and though some media speculated it might be Jones’s wife, Linda, the Daily Mail has reported that the singer’s management company denied that.

The statement added, “He extends his deepest apologies to both the organizers and the fans, who he is most sad to disappoint.”

Prior to the announcement, Jones had already canceled a gig in Manila slated for April 2. Jones has not performed in Japan in 20 years.
